Day 21: The first novel I remember reading...

This is a tough challenge for me because I really don't remember much of my childhood. I can tell you whether or not I've read a story, but not when. So, the first novels I remember reading would be the required reading for school:

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

Animal Farm by George Orwell

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut

Damn, we really weren't exposed to any female writers... I never realized that until now. But I guess I made up for a little bit later on, as these are the novels I first read for pure entertainment purposes:

Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell (including the whole Kay Scarpetta series)

Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs (including most of the Temperance Brennan series)

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
