I recommend this book for the teddy bear scene. It's at the very end and you probably wouldn't understand it without reading the rest of the book. But that one scene made the whole book worth reading. The story itself is interesting, the threat is unique and the villain was appropriate. You get lots of back story and explanations of the Var, even though you probably wouldn't read this book without reading the previous book - so you'd already know this stuff.Unfortunately, the development of the relationship relied heavily on tropes that I have little patience for. Others might not mind them, though.I like this author - her books are always appropriately steamy - but at this point, they're all starting to sound alike.
