Are we sure the name of this book isn't actually "Toxic"...? I think that would be way more appropriate. Why do female authors keep writing such awful women as their romantic leads? The fact that her behavior is atrocious means I don't care at all about Annika. Oh, she helps her parents, does she? I guess that totally balances out the rest of her - manipulative, judgemental, cruel, careless, stubborn, contradictory. But she's soooo pretty and has nice hair, so it's okay!

I don't know much about Joel and I'm not real fond of his inability to back the fuck off, but I definitely don't care about or want to read about him trying to break down Annika's walls.

Trying to read this was a god damn nightmare.
