Damnation

Damnation - Jean Johnson I knew I was gonna cry, I just didn't realize how much.

As usual, Jean Johnson really delivered. This was a fantastic ending to a series full of awesome.

That being said, this story felt completely different. I wonder if the author got a bit punchy at the end, because this book is full of humor and informality that was absent in the previous four books. Not that it's better or worse, just different. I enjoyed the joking between officers and such, it's just not the same tone as the previous books.

It's really hard to review this book. There's so much to say, but no good way to say it without spoiling things. Aside from pointing out that the story has a totally different tone and feel, I'm at a loss as to how to do the story and series justice with my usual crappy review-writing.

I would absolutely recommend this series. It is an impressively large and intriguing story that has been a joy to read and get lost in. I'm sad it is finally over, but I know I'll be reading it again before long.
