I dunno why the author bothered trying to shoehorn this into the sci-fi/futurism genres. Though I can't say she tried very hard. There is literally nothing about this story that is even loosely related to science fiction. Aside from the phrase "go to Earth" once or twice, you'd have no idea this story didn't take place exclusively in Washington DC in 2015.

No aliens. No space travel (aside from somebody saying they were going to Earth). No alternate reality. Nothing. They're in a fucking cabin in the woods in upstate New York or something.

Still, I liked it well enough. Easy to speed-read and skim, which is all I have the attention span for these days.
