Kindred in Death (In Death, #29)

Kindred in Death (In Death, #29) - J.D. Robb Two things: These stories tend to end immediately after the case is closed. But sometimes I'd like to know some of the details that happen after the case is closed. Like, did the victim's father go back to work or did he leave the police force after everything settled? It's nothing important, but I'm still curious.

Second thing: There is no Sundown, Alabama located south of Mobile, Alabama. There ain't much below Mobile but the Gulf of Mexico. As this story is decades in the future, it's entirely possible that a town south of Mobile was later renamed, but... That was an interesting choice of name Robb chose. "Sundown towns" used to be white-only towns where your life was forfeit if you were found in town after sundown and had black or brown skin. It is not a proud heritage. Nobody in their right mind would allow a southern, but especially an Alabamian, town to be named Sundown. Even in a fictional future.

Extra thing: This is the 2nd time Robb has mentioned Mobile, AL in this series when most people have no clue we exist. I think she likes us. Like, like likes us. *bats eyelashes*
